Introduction
Aylsham Garden Centre, managed by partners Gary and Belinda is a thriving business located in Aylsham. To enhance their cafe operations, they commissioned MCT to design, plan, build and install a brand-new kitchen, including a main cook line, a small bakery area for cakes and pastries and ware-washing areas for the pot-wash.
The project brief outlines the need for a comprehensive kitchen that could cope with a busy garden centre café, including fry-up breakfast and mid-afternoon lunch. The kitchen had to be highly functional and easy to clean down at the end of each service.

To begin the project our in-house builder constructed a wooden framework to establish the kitchen layout. This foundational step was crucial for determining the placement of various kitchen sections. With the layout set, we proceeded to supply and install the stainless steel and white plastic wall cladding, ensuring durability and ease of maintenance.
One of the key components of this project was the fabrication and installation of the extraction canopy and ductwork system, which was routed through the roof. This system was designed in-house to efficiently handle the kitchen ventilation needs. Gary and Belinda opted for electrical cooking equipment over gas, which our engineers installed and completed the electrical testing for optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
Gary and Belinda have expressed their satisfaction with the new kitchen, noting significant improvements in operational efficiency and ease of maintenance.
